Weekend Meteorologist / Reporter

Job Description: Prepares graphics for weekend morning newscasts. Produces and delivers forecast. Also co-anchors portion of weekend morning newscasts and fills in as substitute weather anchor on other newscasts as needed. Reports news stories on weekdays when not filling in on weather. Makes public appearances, represents station positively in the community and completes speaking engagements for station events. Provides severe weather coverage, prepares crawls and updates during severe weather events. Posts weather and content updates to station website, as well as continuous updates to online social media sites. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications Necessary: Degree in broadcast journalism, meteorology or related field preferred. At least 3 years on-air experience in a newsroom setting. Ability to develop and present weather forecast for live broadcast. Weather Central system experience and American Meteorological Society's Seal a plus. Prior news and/or reporting experience required. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
