Fox59: #1 in the Morning, #1 Primetime News
Fox59 News Ends 2011 as the #1 morning news to wake up to and the #1 primetime news.  Fox59 is also the only Central Indiana station that is increasing viewership in every single news time period and continues to grow faster than any of its competitors.

Fox59 finished first in the November sweeps period at 4:30am, growing ratings in the time period by more than 100% and surpassing WISH and WTHR, which lost 42% and 15%, respectively, compared to November 2010.

Fox59 Morning News increased viewership from 5-6am by 44%, moving from #4 to #2 and closing within two tenths of a rating point of WTHR.  WISH and WRTV lost 44% and 51%, respectively in the hour compared to last November.

Fox59 Morning News at 6am moved to #2 in the time period, growing by 23% and surpassing WISH, which lost 34% of its viewers compared to November 2010.

“Viewers continue to make a choice to come to our morning news – for the changing weather, big stories and our genuine personalities,” said General Manager Larry Delia.  “I have no doubt our hard work and commitment to serving Central Indiana will continue the shift of viewers in Fox59’s favor.”

Viewers continue to shift toward local news instead of national shows from 7-9am.  Fox59 Morning News, the only local choice from 7-9am, increased viewership by 25%, closing within eight tenths of a rating point of NBC’s “Today Show”.  Fox59 Morning News from 9-10am, which grew by 28%, is also within a single rating point of “Today” and more than doubles viewership of local competitor “Indy Style” on WISH.

In the afternoon and early evening, “Fox59 News: First at Four” and “Fox59 News: Live @ Five” remain the fastest growing newscasts of any in the daypart.  “First at Four” grew by 56%, closing in on WRTV’s “Judge Judy” which was off 19%, and WTHR’s “Dr. Oz”, which was down 44% compared to “Oprah” last November.  “Fox59 News: Live @ Five” is up 46%, while all other competitors’ 5-6pm newscasts lost viewers.

Fox59 News at 10 finished 2011 as the #1 primetime news for the 16th consecutive year, closing out the November ratings period up 6% compared to November 2010.
