State officials are destroying 80 herd of elk and deer after cases of bovine tuberculosis were found.

The Indiana Board of Animal Health says the Franklin County Farm is believed to be the source of the disease.

Bovine TB is considered untreatable in cattle and has led to widespread quarantines in some states.

The fear is the disease will be transmitted to cows which will then transmit the respiratory disease to people thru unpasteurized milk.
