The Indiana State Health Department says one of the goals of its annual Black and Minority Health Fair in Indianapolis next week is educating people on the new swine flu virus.

State Health Commissioner Judy Monroe says the virus poses an uncertain situation for the fall. She says the virus most likely will continue to spread and could cause more serious illnesses.

The Black and Minority Health Fair will be held July 16-19 at the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis. The Health Department says it will include information on how to prepare for the fall flu season. It also will have free screenings and testing on cholesterol, blood glucose, child lead exposure, and adult and child dental screenings.
