Mayor To Speak To Motorcyclists Before 'Ride For Justice' Rally

Indianapolis—

Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard (R) plans to speak to motorcycle riders before a charity event this weekend. Bikers are taking part in a "Ride for Justice" Sunday to honor the victims of the Bisard crash.

They will head to Monument Circle just like past rallies. The mayor will speak to the riders before they set out that morning. The group riding will be escorted on their trip by metro police officers.

The ride costs $25 for riders and $10 for passengers. Proceeds from the ride will go to the families of Eric Wells, Kurt Weekly and Mary Mills.

According to organizers, sign-in and breakfast starts at 7 a.m. at the American Legion Post on State Road 38 in Pendleton. The ride begins at the 10 a.m. and will travel to Monument Circle for a midpoint rally. The ride ends back at the American Legion with a live band and dinner.

Hello Fellow Bikers!

As a Motorcycle Rider Myself & A Retired US Army Veteran I am of the opinion that Mayor Ballard is between a rock & a hard place in this case where IMPD Officer Bisard whom was drunk killed one Rider & Injured others!

My Prayers are with these Riders & their Wonderful Families! Regarding the fact that Mayor Ballard is going to speak at the Rally this weekend & also that the IMPD Police are going to escort this Rally, is in contravention to this case & it's only for publicity & image!

Until this administration has dealt with this drunk IMPD Police Officer & those in the department involved, I feel that such a gesture by the Mayor & his Police Escort is premature & suspect at best!

I feel that the Riders of this Rally should hold their respective ground & ride for the cause set before them & generate support from the public & voters! PROSECUTION IS WHAT NEEDS TO BE CALLED FOR AGAINST OFFICER BISARD & NOT POLITICS AT THE EXPENSE OF OTHERS!
