Residents in Tipton County are on high alert after a man tries to abduct a nine year old girl from her front yard.
The incident occurred last Friday in the Liberty Point neighborhood in the northern part of Tipton County.
Residents say the suspect is a white male in his late 40's or early 50's with dark hair, glasses and a tattoo on one arm. He was driving a small red pickup truck.

When deputies arrived to investigate they learned the same suspect may have been in the neighborhood two weeks ago. That's when Danny Johnson's children were playing in their front yard and were approached by a man in a red pickup truck.
Johnson says, "He turned around down there and came up right here and started to roll down his window and pulled up to my kids. Well my son thought it was weird for him to come back toward the house. My neighbor started coming over there and she was like do you know that man?"

Last Friday the suspect approached nine year old girl and asked her to get into his truck.
Deputy Sheriff Korey Henderson says, "The child did the right thing. Told 'em no I don't want to talk to you and took off behind the house." The girl also told her parents and they called the Sheriff.
Since the attempted abduction was reported the Sheriff has increased patrols in the Liberty Point neighborhood.
