Police: Anderson teen shoots pellet gun at school bus, officer

Anderson police said officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Jackson Street after a school bus driver reported two pellets struck her windshield as she was picking up a student Monday afternoon.

A 17-year-old Anderson boy was arrested Tuesday after police said he fired a pellet gun at a school bus and a police officer.

Anderson police said officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Jackson Street after a school bus driver reported two pellets struck her windshield as she was picking up a student Monday afternoon.

When officers arrived to the scene, police said another shot was fired. Police said the pellet flew over an officer’s head.

After investigating the scene, officer went to a home across the street.  There, they discovered two juveniles with a pellet gun.  The teenagers were taken into custody for questioning.

Police arrested one of the teenagers on preliminary charges of attempted batter and felony criminal recklessness.  He was transported to the Madison County Juvenile Center.

No one was harmed in the incident.
