The murder charge against Undray Knighten has been dropped by prosecutors, who said they cannot find key witnesses in the six-year-old case of Pamela Carol McKee's death.
Knighten, 46, of Columbus, who already is serving 90 years in prison for other convictions, was scheduled to go to trial next week for McKee's May 2003 death. She was found strangled in the Gladstone Avenue home she and Knighten shared.

Bartholomew County Prosecutor Bill Nash sought to dismiss the murder charge without prejudice because the state is unable to find witnesses "essential to the prosecution," according to court papers.
