Bloomington, Ind.

The owners of a well-known bar in Bloomington want you to pay with cash. They've learned the hard way how costly credit card transactions can be.

Nick's English Hut has been targeted by hackers.

Susan Bright got a call the day before Thanksgiving from a pre-paid debit card company about roughly $6,000 in suspicious charges. That was just the tip of the iceberg. The bar's account ended up being blocked because of $1.2 million in fraudulent charges.

Nick’s banks and credit card processors were able to block around $500,000 in phony charges but the bar's owners might be liable for the other $500,000.

"We'll pursue. I’m good at managing finances. I’m not going to let Nick's go down after 84 years of business," said Bright.

The FBI is now investigating the fraudulent charges, but so far no one has been arrested.

Customer card information wasn't compromised, just the businesses card processing number and bank account.
