Start with 2 cups water
Add in 1 cup of instant Oatmeal
2/3 cup oil
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup honey
¼ tsp maple extract
1 tsp salt2 packets instant active dry yeast
Mix water with oats. Let set 3 minutes. Add half the bread flour, yeast, oil, brown sugar honey, salt in mixer. Slowly add the rest of the flour until the mix pulls from the side of the mixer.
Knead for aprox 3 – 5 minutes… to build the gluten.. but this has more processed grains so don’t over do the knead.. be a little gentler..to get a good rise out of it!
Remove from mixer, cover with damp cloth and place in warm area to rise.
After it doubles in size, PUNCH IT OUT!... shape into your desired result brush with egg wash and top with extra oatmeal for beautiful visual effect. And let it rise again… approx 20 min. Then bake in a 325 oven for 25 minutes.. Fantastic!! And healthy!
