The Indiana House of Representatives and Senate will convene Monday, with the House set to debate amendments to the controversial right-to-work legislation.

Indiana House Democratic Leader Patrick Bauer announced Friday that House Democrats would be willing to return to the Indiana Statehouse at “high noon” Monday.

Lawmakers who fail to show could face another $1,000 fine, making it the third day they were issued the fines.  However, a Marion County judge issued an injunction Thursday, temporarily blocking the fines.

Meanwhile, many union members gathered outside the Indiana Statehouse, as well as House Speak Brian Bosma’s home, to protest the right-to-work legislation.

Democrats said they spent the weekend telling Hoosiers about their efforts for a statewide referendum on right-to-work.  They said they want residents to decide on the legislation since it was not brought up during the election season.

Republicans have proposed the right-to-work legislation, which would not require workers at union-represented workplaces to pay union dues.  Supporters of the bill said it would bring more jobs to Indiana.
