On Tuesday morning around 11am, Noblesville Police Department responded to an accident that happened on the southbound lanes of State Road 37 and Pleasant Street.

Early reports suggest that a semi-tractor and trailer was traveling southbound S.R. 37 and were stopped at the traffic light at Pleasant Street at the time of the collision.

Witness statements and evidence at the scene suggest that a 1991 Buick passenger vehicle, also traveling southbound S.R. 37, crashed into the rear of the trailer for some unknown reason. As a result of the collision, the Buick became lodged under the trailer and the driver had to be extricated from the vehicle.

The driver of the semi-tractor was treated and released at the scene.

The north bound lanes of S.R. 37 were closed for approximately one hour due to apparatus at the scene and in order to accommodate the air ambulance.

Southbound lanes of S.R. 37 were closed for approximately two hours while investigators worked to collect evidence.
