2 more anti-Semitic incidents reported at IU

The Bloomington Herald-Times is reporting Hebrew texts were taken from the shelves at Indiana University's Wells Library and distributed to eight different bathrooms within the library, where they were urinated on.

This happened Monday according to IU's director of Jewish Studies Program Jeffrey Veidlinger.

That's the latest in a series of anti-Semitic incidents this week, which includes rocks being thrown through windows at Jewish centers for students - twice at the Chabad House Jewish Student Center and once at the Helene G. Simon Hillel Center.

A rock was also thrown into the staff directory sign of the Jewish Studies program in Goodbody Hall, damage that was reported to local police this morning, Veidlinger said.

Calling the vandalism and other actions "disturbing," Veidlinger said, "It seems to be escalating."

Earlier this morning, a second rock was thrown through an upstairs apartment window at the Chabad House at 518 E. Seventh St.
