On Saturday October 10th, a woman went to the ATM at a bank on East 10th Street near Linwood Avenue in Indianapolis. After making a withdrawal, a man walked up with a weapon and demanded the money.

"He said basically give me the money before I kill you," the victim, who asked not to be identified, said.

The woman refused to give up her purse and wrestled with the suspect until he punched her to the ground. Investigators say the robbery didn't appear to be a well thought out event.

"We believe it was not necessarily planned but something that was spontaneous on his part," Det. Kevin Lauerman said.

The victim says the suspect drove away in a red SUV with dark tinted windows. She tried to chase him down, but couldn't catch him.
