Indianapolis—
It has been one month since 30-year-old Eric Wells was killed when IMPD Officer David Bisard hit him with his patrol car. Friday, the motorcyclist who just narrowly avoided being hit by Bisard returned to the crash site to mark the somber anniversary. George Burt held up a sign at the scene on the city's northeast side asking drivers to remember Wells and the two motorcyclists who were seriously injured. His actions even moved a stranger to stop and give him a hug of support.
"People need to stay aware of what's going on and to support them, the one who died and the ones who are still injured. Every day I try to come out and stand a little memorial up and it's just very sad," said that stranger, northeast side resident Susan Sullivan.
As for George Burt, he said being at the crash site helps him deal with the trauma he witnessed.
