Workers find woman's body near railroad tracks

Railroad employees called police around 10:00 a.m. Monday after they said they found a body along the railroad tracks in the 2500 block of Massachusetts Avenue.

The CSX employees told police they were in the area conducting routine track maintenance.

Officers later arrived at the scene where they said they discovered the body of an older female. The body was located about 10 yards from the tracks. A homicide detective did not believe there were signs of any foul play, and believed the woman may have been homeless.
