Warren Central students took a break from classes on Martin Luther King Day. But they still learned an important lesson Monday.

Dozens of students took part in the school's first ever "Take a Stand" event held on the holiday. The school-wide initiative is aimed at preventing bullying and hazing.

Students took a pledge to stand up against the behavior.

"We're not going to give this lip service, we're going to take a stand and we're going to be proactive in our approach here,” said Marques Clayton, Warren Central athletic director.
