Indianapolis Parks are introducing a new feature to become more green. New solar-powered trash compactors are being installed to help the parks save money on trash collection.

The cutting-edge trash cans will wirelessly monitor themselves when they need to be emptied saving the city about $200,000 a year. The divices each cost $3,500 and will be placed in dozens of parks around Marion County.
