A state election board report shows Coats doesn't have any certified signatures. Coats -- who plans to challenge Democrat Evan Bayh -- needs at least 500 by next week's deadline to get on the ballot.

Former Congressman Jeff Hostettler, state Senator Marlin Stutzman, and Richmond financial adviser Don Bates Jr all have several hundred signatures.
