Democrats end boycott, discuss right-to-work bill

The bill moved to the House for a third reading after the Senate passed the bill Monday evening.

House Democrats were present at the Indiana Statehouse Wednesday afternoon, ending their boycott over the controversial right-to-work legislation.

The bill moved to the House for a third reading after the Senate passed the bill Monday evening.

Lawmakers voted 28-22 in favor of the legislation which would make it illegal for employers to force non-union members to pay representation fees.

The Democrats have boycotted right-to-work legislation, denying the Republicans a quorum of 67 members.

Fines of $1,000 a day were imposed on the Democrats for boycotting. The absent Democrats have racked up a total of $4,000 in fines.
