A woman who said she was sexually assaulted over the weekend, became the third victim to report an attack in Broad Ripple in one week.

The victim, who is in her twenties, said she was raped and robbed early Sunday morning and then dropped off near the 6300 block of Guilford Avenue.

Her father, who asked us to conceal his identity for her protection said her phone call for help came shortly after 3 a.m.

"I could hear my daughter sobbing hysterically in the background and the only thing we could get out of her was 'Broad Ripple,'" he said.

He described the external injuries she also suffered to her back, shoulders and around her neck:  "Bruises and a scrape about a foot long on her back and a bruise that runs from the middle of her back down."

He rushed her to the emergency room and said, "the nurse indicated that there was a good indication that she had been drugged." He said she was out with her friend drinking at a few bars in Broad Ripple when she became separated from her friend.  He said neither of the girls can recall how that happened.

"She has about a two hour period of absolutely no memory of things."

Police are still working the case along with the cases involving other assaults against women that occurred in Broad Ripple this past week. An armed robbery was reported last Monday night at 63rd and College.  Then the following night, a woman reported she was robbed in the 6100 block of Guilford Avenue.

"when I talked to my daughter this morning, she said, 'you know, we don't go downtown because it has a reputation of not being safe and Broad Ripple has the reputation of being a safe place.'"

Her father said, he hopes, if anything, this horrible experience will, at least, spare someone else from the suffering his daughter is dealing with.
"If we can save some other family from going through this trauma, some other girls and young ladies who won't have to experience this because people will start thinking ahead and be on the lookout all the time."

Metro Police said they stepped up patrols in Broad Ripple after the second attack occurred on Tuesday. No one has been arrested yet in connection with any of the three cases.
