You may have noticed gas prices are way up again! After falling below $2.80, prices jumped $0.40 Wednesday. Over the past month, drivers have seen many increases and drops in gas prices.

According to Indygasprices.com, gas was going for an average of $3.13 on January 18. It then fell to below $3 a week later. It shot back up to $3.15 again. There was a steady decline following that February 4 jump, but now gases are all over again.

A spokesperson for the Indiana Petroleum Marketers Association said the price of gas right now is where it should be for the cost of a barrel of oil.

Scot Imus said for the past week or so, retailers have been selling gas for less than they were paying for it. He said that's because no station wanted to sell gas for more than their competitor.

A spokesman for the Federal Energy Information Administration said he doesn't see gas prices steadily under the $3 mark for at least the next two years.
