Georgia Street will continue to be a popular location even after Super Bowl XLVI.
Indianapolis Downtown, Inc. (IDI) was announced as the new manager for Georgia Street, beginning Monday. IDI will be in charge of maintaining the venue, booking it and further developing the area.
The street will be transformed by a $12.5 million upgrade, creating a great gathering place and pedestrian boardwalk for visitors. IDI said they will activate the street with outdoor cafes and special events and programming.
The three-block street and walkway connects the Indiana Convention Center, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Circle Centre mall, as well as several restaurants, residences, hotels and the St. John’s Church.
A meeting will be held Monday afternoon to discuss the operations and maintenance of the revamped street.
