With the winter storm this week many Hoosiers wondered when they're going to get a break and perhaps they got that sign from a weather expert out east Wednesday.
February 2 is Groundhog Day and the prognosticator of prognosticators-- Punxsutawney Phil-- gave his forecast.
As the tradition goes, there's another six weeks of winter if he sees his shadow and, an early spring if he doesn't.
Phil didn’t see his shadow. That means there'll be an early spring.
He has seen his shadow 98 times and hasn’t seen it 15 times since 1887.
There are no records for the years before that, but, the group has never failed to issue a forecast.
According to the latest figures, Phil has been accurate 39% of the time.
The first official day of spring is actually March 20.
