Police: Man arrested for fatally shooting girlfriend

A man was arrested after police said he shot his girlfriend on the west side Wednesday night.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a home in the 400 block of Rybolt Avenue around 11:15 p.m. on reports of shots fired in the area. 

When police arrived, they found Regina Roska, 41, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Challie Gray, 53, was arrested early Thursday morning and preliminarily charged with murder.

Witnesses told police they heard multiple gunshots fired and saw Gray flee the home on foot.

Roska was rushed to Methodist Hospital where she died a short time later.
