Hospital responds to complaints from transgendered patient
Ball Memorial Hospital officials said they will work with two advocacy groups to resolve complaints surrounding a transgendered patient who claims she was ridiculed and denied treatment.

The Associated Press is reporting Indiana Equality and the Indiana Transgender Rights Advocacy Alliance will participate in a review of the hospital's policies and training.

Hospital President Mike Haley said the woman's complaint was of great concern. He promised the hospital would improve upon its sexual orientation and gender identity awareness training.
