IMPD officers experienced a 45-minute radio outage Tuesday night.
Officers had to use cellphones and backup systems to communicate.
According to the department, Motorola was doing some work in preparation for the Super Bowl and it caused a problem with some routers.
IMPD said there weren’t any missed calls or dispatch runs from the problem and the system has been restored.
This raises serious questions about Motorola - and just how the City responds!
Just what was motorola doing messing with the police band width. Since they make the radios for police and fire you would think they know what frequency to leave alone. Sounds like a good time to fine them and recoup some superbowl expence money.
