UPDATE: Kathie Smith told Fox59 News this all came about because she told a reporter she was profiled while traveling.

"I trusted this reporter with a traumatic experience that happened to me while traveling to and from Germany dealing with homeland security. I gave her a detailed account of how I was being abused and being singled out as a Muslim and this reporter just turned it around," Smith said.

She said she is not linked to terrorism, so we asked her why she thinks she is being investigated.

"I believe it's because I'm asserting my first amendment right... Freedom of speech. And, I speak out against this government and what it's doing with the war in Afghanistan and Iraq."
