The Indiana Supreme Court ruled Monday that Governor Daniels cannot be forced to testify over the state's canceled contract with IBM.

Daniels canceled a state contract with IBM to process welfare applications. The contract was worth nearly $1.4 billion.

A trial court granted a motion to force the governor to testify back in December 2011. The Supreme Court ruled to reverse the motion because it violates a section of Indiana's code which exempts the governor from facing subpoenas.

IBM had argued Daniels played an integral part in the contract.

Indiana is currently suing IBM for more than $400 million while IBM has counter-sued for $100 million the company says it is still owed.
