Indianapolis Colts Grille

The Indianapolis Colts Grille is sacking holiday hunger on Tuesday, when 100 percent of all food purchases will be donated to Gleaners Food Bank’s BackSacks Program – an initiative that’s keeping Hoosier kids fed during the weekends. To top things off, Indianapolis Colts’ owner Jim Irsay will match all gratuity and also donate that amount to the Gleaners program.

From open to close, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., the Colts Grille will donate all food sales – and Irsay’s matched tip dollars – to the BackSacks Program, which provides qualified students with sacks of food to feed them over weekends and holiday breaks. The food is kid-friendly, nutritious and shelf-stable – meaning it doesn’t have to be refrigerated or reheated.
“We are so thankful to the Colts Grille for supporting this cause,” said Carrie Fulbright, Director of External Relations for Gleaners. “There are so many students in our service area who would go hungry on the weekends without the BackSack program. The Colts Grille’s support will make sure that more of these kids are fed over the weekend when they do not have access to school lunches or breakfasts.”

Indianapolis Colts Grille director of operations Mike Duganier applauded Gleaners. “Food is our business so it makes sense to see how we can help make an impact against hunger here in Indianapolis,” said Duganier. “On behalf of our cooks, servers and bartenders, as well as the Indianapolis Colts, we’re pleased to offer this opportunity to help feed local children in need.”

The Indianapolis Colts’ mascot Blue and Colts cheerleaders will assist the Colts Grille staff in giving away prizes throughout the day, and diners will have the chance to enter a drawing to win two Super Bowl XLVI tickets. The Grille is located downtown under the Artsgarden, at the corner of Washington and Illinois streets. For more information, visit the website at www.indianapoliscoltsgrille.com.
