Scene of Geist area shooting (Fox59 / February 12, 2012) |
Indianapolis Metro Police is investigating the deaths of two men in the Geist area.
IMPD officers responded to the 10600 block of Courageous Drive on a report of a person shot.
When they arrived, officers found 50-year-old Derek Tully of Indianapolis inside the residence suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Officers found a second victim, 48-year-old John Caffrey of Indianapolis, suffering from a single gunshot wound outside of the residence.
Both victims were pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators believe the two victims have been mutual friends and may have been involved in an ongoing dispute.
Officers believe that Caffrey entered Tully's house and shot him.
Caffrey then exited the house and then apparently shot himself.
The Marion County Crime Lab recovered the weapon.
