Kelly Clarkson to perform national anthem at Super Bowl

A former American Idol winner has been chosen to perform the national anthem at Super Bowl XLVI.

Kelly Clarkson will perform "The Star Spangled Banner" before the game at Lucas Oil Stadium on February 5 in Indianapolis.

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert will sing “America the Beautiful” as part of Super Bowl XLVI’s pregame festivities at the stadium.

Additionally, music artists Lenny Kravitz and The Fray will also be in attendance.

Clarkson follows other great performers who have been chosen to sing the national anthem at one of the most-watched sporting events in history.  Other notable artists include Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Whitney Houston, Garth Brooks, Mariah Carey, the Backstreet Boys and more.
