Plans to save the Lawrence Township School District from a major financial hole are moving forward.
Hundreds of parents and students attended the school board meeting Monday night looking for answers as to how the school board will trim more than $3 million from next year's budget.
The latest plan being considered calls for 6th grade students to return to elementary school. One middle school would be closed leaving the district with two middle school campuses. The estimated savings would be an estimated $3.6 million.
Parents also heard a presentation with an administrative report that claims the budget will have a $4.6 million shortfall in two years if they don't make cuts now.
No decision was made by the board Monday night. That could come in a few weeks at the December 14 board meeting.
