Local businesses cash in on Colts success

The Colts are winning and so are local retailers who want to capitalize off of the team's success.

A nail salon in Carmel, Indiana is offering discounts for the hot and trendy Minx nails. Abstract Nails Studio has a $15 discount on Minx nails applied in team's color "Blue Lightning."

"We're offering it for the divas that want to support the Colts and so we have the magnificent Colts blue. Since we first started advertising it, the phones have been like jumping off of the hook," owner Ronieka Howell explained.


Esther Mead rushed into the salon on Tuesday to have her nails done.

"During Christmas we get crazy with red and green and now it's time for us to get crazy with blue and white and show off our team for our city," she told Fox59 News.

Central Indiana restaurants are getting in on the action as well.

The new partners in a "Just Wing'n It" franchise planned special discounts for a Super Bowl party two weeks ago. Now restaurant spokesman Rick Watkins says it's time to up the ante.

Watkins said local high school students will receive a discount starting this week at the 79th and Michigan Road restaurant.

"We'll run some drink specials, maybe some food specials, just whatever we can do to really, really get this place exciting," he said.

By the time the big game comes around, Colts-related Super Bowl deals at local restaurants and service providers should be easy to find.
