The man accused of killing a 9-year-old Fort Wayne girl appeared in court Tuesday morning.
Michael Plumadore is charged with killing Aliahna Lemmon. Her remains were recovered Monday evening.
Investigators believe Lemmon was killed last Friday, the day she was reported missing from the Northway mobile home park on the north side of Fort Wayne.
The girl and her two sisters had stayed with Plumadore for about a week while their mother was ill.
Plumadore told police he last saw Lemmon sleeping in his home early Friday morning. He said he noticed she was missing a short time later and assumed she went back home to her mother.
Because of a lack of communication, Lemmon was not reported missing until Friday night.
Allen County Sheriff Ken Fries told Fort Wayne television station WISE-TV there was not a specific location where the girl's remains were found, but in a press release Corporal Tinkel says her remains have been located and recovered.
Plumadore has been placed on a 72-hour hold. A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for Dec. 30 at 9 a.m. No bond has been set.

Why are you all being so judgmental of the Mom? First of all, how stereotypical to say she left them in a trailer park full of sex offenders! Did you research the park? Are all people in a trailer park sex offenders? Second of all she didn't leave them with a "strange man" it says he was a neighbor and FAMILY FRIEND. Have you never left your children with a friend before? And while there may not be time for sickness, sometimes sickness makes itself a priority! I just can't believe the first thing you all do is jump on to judge a mother who lost a daughter and of all times during the holidays. You all should be doing some serious self evaluations. What an ugly way to be. My sympathy goes out to all of the families and friends who are hurting over this and my prayers with this little girl that it was quick and God took her home!

I think that the mother should be charged with neglect. She left her kids with some random man for a whole week. Being a single mom sometimes there's no time to rest and be sick. Just suck it up and keep going. I should have remorse for her but I don't at all. No to mention she left her girls in a trailer park full of sex offenders. This is a situation that could have been prevented with good parenting.

I am still waiting on SOME kind of explanation on WHY the "mom" left her 3 daughters with this MAN for about a week, while she was ill...? The story says that he assumed she had went home to be w/her mom, so she must have been at home, & they were neighbors. WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE!? WHY did the mom leave her daughters with this man? Please give me some kind of plausible explanation.......
