Nationwide unemployment rate drops to 8.3 percent

The latest unemployment numbers released Friday showed more Americans are finding work.

The latest unemployment numbers released Friday showed more Americans are finding work.  

The Labor Department said employers added 243,000 jobs in January, bringing the unemployment rate down to 8.3 percent.

That’s the lowest rate since February 2009 and the fifth straight month unemployment has fallen.
