The third-ranking Republican in the U.S. House spoke before the Detroit Economic Club Monday afternoon. Indiana Congressman Mike Pence (R-6th District) addressed the group in Birmingham, Michigan.
Rep. Pence was re-elected to the U.S. House in November, then announced he would be stepping down from his role as House Republican Conference Chairman. The decision prompted speculation of a possible run for the White House in 2012 or a run for governor.
Monday's speech is expected to focus on Pence's "vision for economic growth, prosperity and job creation."
Every president since Richard Nixon has visited the Detroit Economic Club before their run.
Indiana Rep. Mike Pence told the group he and his family are "determined to take the next few months and pray about" a possible White House run.
