Another former Perry Township Deputy Constable is in trouble with the law. John Smith, who told Fox59 News he paid $1,000 for his deputy constable's badge in 2007, is now being held on drug charges.Marion Co. grand jury investigators arrested Smith after a raid in which they confiscated records, guns, and equipment related to his southeast side towing business.
A federal investigation is currently underway into the sale of badges by Perry Township Constable Roy Houchins. Earlier this month, Smith announced plans to run for re-election.
