NFL players and city officials opened a new facility as part of the Super Bowl Legacy Grant Initiative Thursday.
The league donated $1 million to construct the Chase Near Eastside Legacy Center and Youth Education Town.
The center has full kitchens, computers, conference rooms and other facilities the community can use.
The goal is to have a positive impact that lasts long after the super bowl game is over.
"In this building and its programs we see the type of enduring and incredible impact the Super Bowl is having on our community," said Representative Andre Carson, D-7th Congressional District.
The NFL Charities' grant helped the Super Bowl Host Committee to get an additional $10.3 million for the construction of the Legacy Center.
