Some Salvation Army bell ringers were trying to jingle their way into the record books Friday.

Leilan McNally and Caleb Stokes are on the Circle downtown right now, attempting to set a world record for continuous ringing of a hand bell by a single person.

They're competing against 24 other contestants across the country and they must remain standing the entire time.

They can only drink, not eat, and can only use the bathroom once every four hours.

"There is no sleeping, no sitting down, no stopping, we get a 10-minute break to use the restroom, " said Stokes.
