Super Bowl 46 gets its own Social Media Command Center

The goal is to make this Super Bowl super accessible for everyone by using social media.

Indianapolis

Super Bowl 46 is going social. The goal is to make this Super Bowl super accessible for everyone by using social media.

The Social Media Command Center is a sophisticated network of technology designed to geo-target every Super Bowl fan taking their Super Bowl experience to a level they probably aren’t expecting.

“We'll literally be listening to the interface for certain words and phrases, do they need help and we we'll reach out and contact them directly,” said Taulbee Jackson, President & CEO Radius Marketing.

So how do you talk to every Super Bowl fan who needs help or directions? It starts with a staff of 16 from Radius Marketing.

“We've also partnered with Ball State University, Butler, and IUPUI, their journalists and telecommunication groups have pitched in,” said Jackson.

They'll man the center starting Monday for 14-15 hours a day, targeting four main areas: park and ride information, know before you go, entertainment and making sure fans know what's happening Super Bowl week.

So if you tweet the parking garage by the Colts Grill is full, they'll see your tweet and  respond directly to your question, streaming which garages still have space in that area.

“If downtown Indy is full we want to tell people to check out Broad Ripple, the waits are shorter we have the people and infrastructure out there to get the information to people,” said Ryan Smith.

It’s the first ever Super Bowl social media command center. They'll also send out information in the case of an emergency during Super Bowl week.

Remember if you're out and about during Super Bowl week and need help navigating or finding information, tweet or Facebook because they're keeping their eyes open and they'll probably respond to you!
