Pictures: Bad accidents
According to the NHTSA, there were over 5.8 million accidents in the United States in 2008, with over 34,000 of them fatal. Around the country, alcohol was involved in 32% of fatal accidents and excessive speed was a factor in 1/3 of all fatal crashes. Our hope is that this gallery serves as a reminder to drive carefully, especially during inclement weather and to think before you get behind the wheel if you have been drinking.
