    As the UPI Player of the Year in his state, he was sought after by Division I school's everywhere.  As a four-year starter at the Ohio State University, he'd be the Big Ten's Most Valuable, an All-American who graced the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine and a Heisman Trophy candidate who would be later labeled by the great Woody Hayes as the best Buckeye to ever play football.
