Martin finally won his first race in Rockingham in 1989. Through the years he has won 35 races, finished in the top five 239 times and the top 10 385 times. Despite his success, he never won the season championship.
Martin has spent the last several seasons trying to retire but keeps getting pulled back. In 2008, joined Dale Earnhardt Inc, sharing a ride with Aric Almorola in the No. 8 car, formerly driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr.
