"Everything went black," said 14-year-old survivor Kaitlyn Fitzgerald. "I had no idea where I was when I woke up. I climbed out through the drivers seat window and thought I lost my hearing. I was sitting there yelling Jessica's name and she wouldn't answer."
Teens in Arcadia and Cicero where Jessica grew up in Northern Hamilton County are mourning the loss of their friend. "Jessica was like a sister to me, she was the best person I've ever met, she got along with everyone," said Kelsey Leach. There were five teenagers in the Pontiac G-6 including the driver, Charles Estep. Estep's 16-year-old brother Christopher was in the back with 17-year-old Dillon Hazlewood and 14-year-old Kaitlyn Fitzgerald. Friends say Charles Estep feels fully responsible for his friend Jessica's death and is taking it very hard. Friends have one message for teens taking chances on the roads.
"Just don't be stupid," said Kelsey Leach. "You end up hurting so many more people than yourself."
