A Central Indiana meth bust endangers several children, sends a pregnant woman to the hospital and lands four people behind bars.

The meth bust happened in Franklin. Police say the suspects cooked the drugs with two young children present in the room at the Franklin Cove Apartments just off Interstate-65.

"It smelled like paint at first and then you could start smelling the fumes," said Greg Clardy.

"Lightheadedness. Dizzy. Headaches. Throat burning," said Ronnie Johnson.

Police raided the upstairs unit Tuesday morning after neighbors called complaining. Many - including a pregnant woman and several children - were getting sick in the units nearby.

"I think it's kind of terrible. It is. I mean there's 7 kids in that apartment building," said Clardy.

"They put my children in jeopardy and I don't think that's fair," said Johnson.

Narcotics agents confiscated an array of materials used to cook the drug. Residents watched on - and then more than a dozen of them were told they had to get out. The health department won't let any of the tenants back inside for at least 10 days. The victims say they no longer have a place to stay. The Red Cross paid for 2 nights at the nearby Super 8.

"We're out. We cannot get back in my apartment. My mother-in-law is bringing my children clean clothes because we cannot get nothing out of my apartment. I have no phone charger. I have no way of contacting my family," said Johnson.

Tori Adams, Jeremiah Burris, Joseph Burton and Candice Harris were arrested. They are at the Johnson County jail, while a woman 8 months pregnant still recovers at the hospital.

"I hope somebody has mercy on them. Cuz I don't. They deserve what they get," said Clardy.
