On Monday, police were dispatched to check the welfare of a child on North Holmes Avenue.
When police arrived on the scene the witness, Melvin Jackson stated a two year old was walking down the middle of the street with only a t-shirt and a diaper on. The child had almost been struck two vehicles.
The child was crying very loudly and the only the officer could determine where he lived was by letting the child walk home.

The officer met a juvenile at the home and asked where the parent was and he was informed the mother was in bed.
The officer knocked on the bedroom time several times announcing himself, there was no answer. He then entered the room and stated 'wake up' and still had no response on the third wake up he spoke loudly, waking the mother who is identified as Holly Craig.

Craig stated she had fallen asleep because she works during the night and that the juvenile was in charge of the children at the time. Child Protective Services was notified and they conducted a home interview.
Holly Craig was arrested for neglect of a depended and transported to APC.
