Regulations from the state board of health could force an animal rescue shelter in Owen County, Indiana to close.
The director of Our Li'l Bit of Heaven Rescue is worried that she can't afford to pay $15,000 to $20,000 to install a commercial septic tank and system.
Joyce Deckard says the state board of health is reviewing their situation and could issue a decision in two weeks.
Our Li'l Bit of Heaven is home to 130 dogs and one Pot Belly pig.
Deckard says, "We need help to do what the state is telling us we have to do to save these dogs to keep them here."
The animal rescue is housed on 23 acres in Owen County near the town of Poland. Deckard says the non-profit operation depends on donations and volunteers to keep the facility running.
She's hoping for a compromise by the state or a miracle from the public.
