One Man Is Recovering Following A Police Action Shooting In Jennings County
NORTH VERNON - A North Vernon man is recovering after being shot by police following a SWAT stand-off Friday night.

Jennings County Sheriff's investigators say 29-year-old Jacob Miller tried to flee from police after they received a call about a fight at an apartment complex. Officials say they heard what sounded like gunshots coming from Miller's apartment.

The North Vernon City Police SWAT Team was called and talked Miller out of his apartment. Miller was detained and transported to the St. Vincent Medical Center in North Vernon to receive treatment for non-life threatening injuries consistent with a gunshot wound/wounds to his right leg.

Both agencies whom had officers involved in the incident, the North Vernon Police Department and the Jennings County Sheriff's Office requested that detectives from the Indiana State Police Post at Seymour take the lead in this investigation.

At this time it has not been determined how many officers fired their duty weapons or how many shots were fired. It has also not been determined if any of the shots fired by the police was the actual shot/shots that caused Jacob Millers injuries.
