Kimberly Soper, a young mother was found at the bottom of her staircase. On Tuesday night doctors did not expect her to live and they would not release her condition.
She passed away early Wednesday morning.
Police found 38 year old Kimberly Soper with extensive skull fractures and internal bleeding. She was unresponsive at the bottom of the stairs in her two story house. Police say her husband Robert called 911.
"Obviously very sad she's in hospital and in a coma and its devastating for the family and their children and husband and entire neighborhood they're good friends of ours" says Jenny Stubbs a neighbor of the Soper's.
In the normally quiet subdivision neighbors noticed when police went in the couple's house with a search warrant for items or weapons that could be used to cause blunt force trauma.
Police also searched for blood spatter, fibers, and fingernail scrapings for DNA.
Doctors say Kimberly's injuries are not consistent with a fall down the stairs. The severe bleeding with the head injury is more consistent with a high impact injury such as someone hit by a car.
